2. Sherrif John Ward kept $390,000.00 in cash donations
The CurryCorruption.com Information Bureau has learned that Curry County and the FBI uncovered significant concerns regarding the misappropriation of Curry County donations by Sheriff John Ward.
It has been reported that Sheriff Ward retained $390,000.00 in donations, representing one of the largest thefts of County funds in recent history. Further investigation reveals that the Sheriff used funds donated to Curry County to construct a metal building on his private property to store watercraft and off-road motor vehicles, which he also purchased using funds donated to the county. These items were then licensed in Ward’s own name, without proper reporting to the county.
Currently, the FBI is actively investigating these allegations, emphasizing the severity of the situation. Transparency and accountability are paramount, and we are committed to providing detailed reports to keep the public informed about these developments. $90,000 of these donations are still unaccounted for!
Sheriff's Association Expels Ward
OREGON STATE SHERIFFS’ ASSOCIATION (OSSA) AND CURRY COUNTY SHERIFF JOHN WARD Oregon State Sheriffs'
A few weeks ago, the Oregon State Sheriffs’ Association (OSSA) learned that the Curry County Board of Commissioners had completed an investigation into misconduct by Sheriff John Ward, regarding donations from a local non-profit organization (John G. Atkins Foundation). The investigation concluded that Sheriff Ward had been untruthful and had in fact taken Foundation donations for his own personal use.
Upon learning of this information, the OSSA Executive Committee met and determined that, under the OSSA Bylaws, the Board of Directors should decide whether to temporarily suspend or permanently revoke Sheriff Ward's position as a Director on the OSSA Board. Sheriff Ward was notified that this question would be presented to the OSSA Board at a special meeting on August 24, 2026, and that he would have an opportunity to address the Board before a decision was made. Sheriff Ward did not appear to address the Board.
On August 24, 2026, the Board met and considered the issue. A motion was made to permanently expel Sheriff Ward from serving as an OSSA Director. The motion passed unanimously, with 28 Oregon sheriffs voting on the issue. Sheriff Ward was immediately expelled from the OSSA Board of Directors, and will have no further involvement in the operation of OSSA.

Sheriff Ward Sells AMMO illegally
$10,000.00 worth of assorted ammo was sold to both County employees and others from the Curry County Sheriff's account.
This ammo was not meant to be used as a graft for Sheriff Ward's supporters it was only meant to be used by County employees during active employment.
The documents speak for themselves, Ward has acted in an unethical and illegal manner.
